Peugeot 4008 2013

In line with Peugeot's range enhancement and development strategy, the Peugeot 4008 will be launched initially in the international market which will represent 70% of its sales. With its distinctive, stylish appearance and its 4x4 SUV features, the Peugeot 4008 is a modern response to the needs of all-terrain vehicle customers, in a very prominent market segment.
International launch
The world market of all-terrain SUVs has been growing strongly since 2005. In Russia, all-terrain vehicles have long been predominant and currently account for 20% of the market, the majority being vehicles in the compact SUV segment. However, in China and Western Europe the market share of the SUVs has reached 10%, and covers a variety of expectations. In Europe, this market share of the SUVs in segments C and D is increasing to the detriment of the SUVs of the E segment. In China, it is the attraction of the vehicle's status that is sought after. In Europe, it fulfils the desire for distinctive multipurpose vehicles, compact and with an environmental impact comparable to that of a conventional saloon. Therefore, the Peugeot 4008 is an ideal response to the changes in these markets, it is a competitive vehicle serving the marque's ambition in the international market. Presented as a world première at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Peugeot 4008 will go on sale initially in international markets from 2012 second quarter
With this new 4x4 SUV, Peugeot completes its range of vehicles suited to the various expectations of all-terrain customers. With its strong personality, for the international destinations, the Peugeot 4008 is aimed both at customers who already own an all-terrain vehicle and at those looking for an alternative to Saloons or MPVs, a vehicle synonymous with leisure. In Europe, it is targeted more specifically at customers who appreciate a strong and dynamic ability, with dimensions suited to multi-purpose use and efficient fuel economy. In addition to the 4007, but also the 3008 and its HYbrid4 version, the Peugeot 4008 fulfils the expectations of the different markets showing strong growth in the compact SUV segment.

A distinctive style
Born of the PSA - Mitsubishi partnership, the Peugeot 4008 naturally has a strong Peugeot identity. The new stylistic codes of the marque are judiciously adapted, such as the floating grille and the feline design of the lamp units with visual signature: at the front, a line of LED daylight running lamps that complement the headlamps and three red claws sculpted rear lamps. The off-road character has been emphasised by adopting a vertical design of grille, inclusion of body sill protectors and prominent wheel arch protection trims, to accommodate large wheels enhanced by the sophisticated design of the wheel rims. The almost-horizontal bonnet grooves and the style line - which extends to the rear wing where it descends again crossing the lamp - are a distinctive feature and appear to hollow out along the body side, accentuating the strong and dynamic aspect of the Peugeot 4008.

Excellence and range enhancement
The work carried out by the design style team, down to the smallest detail, gives the Peugeot 4008 a high class elegance in line with its positioning. The exterior is, among other things, set off with chromed components and the interior ambiance is enhanced by the choice of materials, like the soft texture fascia, to the instrument panel visor and the lacquered black decoration of the centre console. A glass panoramic roof provides extensive light for the occupants in the passenger compartment and is supplemented with side LEDs for night/dark light illumination for reading. With its particular style, strong and distinctive, the Peugeot 4008 is firmly rooted in the world of the compact SUV. Its features and its equipment - like the Open & Go system, 18" alloy wheels, a touch screen navigation system, and reversing camera - are a result of the Brand's modernity and upmarket vision of all-terrain vehicles.

Multipurpose, comfortable SUV
The platform of the Peugeot 4008, taken in part from the 4007, has been reduced in length by shorter front and rear overhangs (-30cm in length). Its long wheelbase and its wide tracks have been retained to guarantee good occupant space in the front and rear. These characteristics and its exterior dimensions - 4.34m long, 1.80m wide with a height of 1.63m - make the Peugeot 4008 particularly versatile. Its compactness - a promise of true manoeuvrability - and its occupant space make it a vehicle suitable for everyday use, including in town, and for leisure journeys or holidays.
4x4 transmission with electronic management
In the four-wheel drive version, the driver can select three transmission modes: "2WD" two-wheel drive, "4WD" four-wheel drive and "LOCK" locking of the four-wheel drive. In the two four-wheel drive modes - 4WD and LOCK - the distribution of the torque between the front and the rear is managed electronically. In LOCK mode, the four-wheel drive transmission becomes permanent, with even greater distribution of torque to the rear wheels.
This type of transmission will represent more than 80% of sales of the 4008. Peugeot's new 4x4 SUV will in fact only be offered in a 4x4 version in certain countries, including Europe.
A range of performant engines adapted to the market
There will be four engines:
  • Petrol
    • 1.6l 85 kW (116hp) / 152 Nm - 5-speed manual
    • 2.0l 113 kW (150hp) / 198 Nm - 5-speed manual or CVT
  • HDi Diesel
    • 1.6l HDi FAP 82 kW (112hp) / 270 - 280 Nm with overboost - 6-speed manual
    • 1.8l HDi FAP 110 kW (150hp) / 300 Nm - 6-speed manual
For Europe, the Peugeot 4008 will be offered with the two HDi diesel engines. In the other countries, it will be marketed with the most appropriate power train(s).
With the 1.6l petrol and HDi diesel engines, the environmental performance of the Peugeot 4008 is among the best in the segment. So the Peugeot 4008 merits its status as a modern SUV and its place in the heart of our cities, just as much as a conventional Saloon

Lexus GS 350

For this concept, Lexus designers studied characteristics that are often considered contradictory and difficult to execute together,” said Kengo Matsumoto, general manager, Lexus Design Division, Toyota Motor Corporation. “The captivating design of the LF-Gh concept examines the possibility of balancing what are normally opposing qualities, such as style and functionality.”
The Lexus LF-Gh concept takes the company’s L-Finesse design philosophy one step forward and combines style, performance, efficiency, and environmental compatibility with advanced, new technologies. And, as with many other new concepts, the LF-Gh is also a hybrid vehicle.

Just when you thought Toyota had gotten over their 2010 recall catastrophe, their sister brand, Lexus, is starting the year of by catching the proverbial ‘bug’.There really is no rest for the weary, is there.?The Japanese automaker is issuing a voluntary safety recall involving 245,000 vehicles of the GS and IS models over what appears to be a potential defect that could cause fuel leakage.

According to Lexus, the problem is caused by a problem with the connection between the vehicle’s fuel pressure sensor and a fuel line that could loosen over time. This, in turn, could lead to a possible fuel leak.

Mazda Shinari Concept

apanese manufacturer Mazda leaking a little performance newest concept cars ‘Mazda Shinari‘ which will be introduced officially at the Paris Motor Show title this year. Shinari use the new front design concept and overall design language for all future Mazda vehicles. In a manner similar to the previous Nagare styling theme, Mazda has created the term “Kodo” for styling a new paradigm. In Japan it means the spirit of motion. The Firm’s Global Design Chief, Ikeo Maeda, as reported by Autocar, say, if Mazda Shinari will become the leader of the latest generation of Mazda’s designs in the future. Mazda Shinari as four-door coupe is a clear signal that the Mazda targeting the premium segment where similar vehicles such as Aston Martin

RAPIDE, Porsche Panamera and the upcoming Fisker Karma exists. To do so Mazda must improve the level of interior quality. The Japanese word shinari describes the powerful yet supple appearance of great resilient force when objects of high tensile strength, such as steel or bamboo, are twisted or bent. It also refers to the appearance of a person or animal as it flexes its muscles in preparation for a fast movement, and it is these images that form the basis for the name of this concept car.
With a feeling of strength flowing across every panel and part, the Mazda Shinari looks ready to leap forwards at any second. Its form incorporates the expression of a strong backbone running through the body, the sudden release of pent-up energy, and the interplay of beautiful, supple movements. The distinctive front fenders represent the further evolution of the prominent fenders introduced on the RX-8. They highlight the dynamic movement expressed in the sides of Shinari , in a style that is both sporty and elegant. Together with the further three-dimensional sculpting of the front grille, the Shinari design proudly emphasises the Mazda lineage. There is a powerful line of movement originating at the grille and continuing through the bonnet, fender, front lamp modules and bumper. Finally, an aluminium floating bar linking the grille with the headlights enhances the three-dimensional expression of speed. In the interior, Mazda Design has created the ‘ultimate athletic space’ focused on linking ergonomics with basic mechanical functions. It has designed the optimum space for the driver’s cockpit, to enable the driver to focus on the task of driving, as well as the passenger environment, creating a sense of openness. In this model, Mazda Shinari offers new ideas for the human-machine interface in cockpit design, enabling the driver to switch at will between three modes: Business, Pleasure and Sport, to obtain the maximum enjoyment from driving – whatever the purpose of the journey.

Mazda CX-5

Mazda's has revealed its latest concept car, the Kazamai, which is making its global debut at the 2008 Moscow Motor Show.
The name Kazamai can be translated from Japanese to mean 'swirling crosswinds' and this idea can be seen in the design: note the creases on the doors for instance.

More importantly however, the new Mazda Kazamai concept is rumoured to be the precursor to an all-new compact crossover vehicle, which could arrive in the new decade.
This all-new model could go by the name of the CX-5 or CX-4, a potential baby brother of the CX-7 and CX-9 crossover vehicles.
This Japanese concept car is also a coup for the Moscow Motor Show and a sign that the Russian car market is now an important market for mainstream car makers, due to its ability to deliver big revenue.
The Russian new car market recently overtook Germany as the largest in Europe with around 1.65 million annual sales.

Russia's middle class, not unlike China's, is rapidly growing in wealth and this is reflected in things like car sales and the increasing demand for luxury goods in the country of 140 million people.
The new Kazamai concept was designed to gauge the response from this prospering new market, whose sales of SUVs make up a large percentage of the new car market.
According to Mazda, the concept "is a sporty, compact crossover SUV designed especially for the Russian market".
Like Mazda's previous concept cars, such as the Ryuga and Taiki, the new SUV concept car will embody the Japanese car maker's 'Nagare' design philosophy, which can be read as 'flow'.
Mazda says that it's latest concept car "is designed to appeal particularly to younger SUV owners who have a strong sense of style".
"The Mazda Kazamai concept car addresses the growing popularity of SUVs in Russia and gives a strong hint at where Mazda might be going with a compact crossover SUV," says the company. A strong hint... Or perhaps a pre-production design?
As the images reveal, the new concept vehicle will have an overtly sporty design and is likely to be a smaller, sportier version of the CX-7 crossover vehicle.
Mazda has confirmed that the show car will sit on large 22-inch alloy wheels to "lend it high emotional appeal".
The trendy 4WD concept is a bit bigger than the Mazda3, measuring 1930mm wide and 4520mm long, and is powered by a next generation 2.0-litre petrol engine.
This 4-cylinder engine features Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI), which facilitates a cleaner burn. This results in more power, but reduces fuel waste and is claimed to improveefficiency by up to 30%.
The new 2.0-litre DISI engine will also deliver greatly reduced CO2 emissions and is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission mated to an four-wheel drive system.
Inside the Mazda Kazamai concept car there is room for four people, and according to its creator it features a "well considered human machine interface" to operate the vehicles controls.
The new concept car also pioneers an advanced body shell.
Mazda says it is employing a new construction method that is the product of a new body structure programme currently being refined by the company, and which features a lightweight structure that gives the car improved levels of crash safety, in the event of a collision.
Other safety features include dynamic stability control (DSC), roll stability control, a pre-crash safety system, and blind spot monitoring to assist lane change.
It even features forward-looking pedestrian safety solutions, such as soft plastic quarter panels and a shock-cone aluminium bonnet that do less damage to the human body.
And this one could be custom made for dangerous areas: a personal security system. This high tech system scans the area both outside and inside the car, and has an automatic alert system which informs the driver in the event of an emergency to help to protect both the owner and occupants.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class

A sporty designer suit, custom-tailored wheels with diameters of up to 20 inches complete with corresponding suspension options, performance tuning for all engines and exclusive interior design: Brabus now offers an extensive customization program for the new Mercedes SLK.
Sporty-elegant Brabus aerodynamic-enhancement components give the roadster an even more thrilling appearance. The two Brabus front spoiler lips that attach on the left and right side of the production apron and the striking bezels for the daytime running lights lend the SLK a more striking nose. But that's not all: the spoilers also reduce lift on the front axle which particularly benefits directional stability at high speeds.

The Brabus side sill attachments emphasize the sporty lateral lines of the car and seem to make the rear fenders wider visually. The rear of the car receives some added sporty character with the Brabus diffuser and the Brabus rear spoiler on the trunk lid. The diffuser is integrated with utmost precision into the production bumper and features a centrally mounted rear reflector. These aerodynamic-enhancement components also serve more than just a visual function; they reduce lift in the rear as well.
A major contribution to the sporty appearance of the new SLK from Bottrop likewise comes from the Brabus Monoblock wheels, which are available in various one-piece or multi-piece designs with diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches.
The attached photos show the roadster equipped with Brabus Monoblock F wheels painted the new exclusive 'Liquid Titanium' color. They are mounted in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 9.5Jx20 on the rear axle. Brabus recommends high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohams in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 275/25 ZR 20 in back.
Brabus sport springs were custom-developed to match the conversion to these king-sized tires. They are calibrated to work with the production shocks, and lower the ride height of the two-seater by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches). Brabus also offers various versions of its high-performance brake systems for the new SLK.
These measures furthermore make the new SLK perfectly suited for some extra power. In a first step Brabus offers efficient and reasonably priced Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI tuning for the four-cylinder direct-injection engines. The processor-controlled Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI auxiliary control modules are custom-tailored to each respective engine variant and can be installed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in less than an hour thanks to their 'plug and play' design. All performance kits are backed by the one-of-a-kind Brabus Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (updated November 2006). Brabus recommends Aral high-performance lubricants.
To retain the engine's longevity and fatigue strength these kits are designed to only activate the performance-enhancing mapping when all parameters such as engine temperature etc. are in the green. This effectively prevents the performance increase from negatively affecting the service life of the engine.
After the installation of the Brabus ECO PowerXtra B20 CGI performance kit the four-cylinder direct-injection engine of the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY produces an extra 26 hp (25 bhp) / 19 kW of power and an additional 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) of peak torque.

The new SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY can be upgraded at Brabus in two stages. The Brabus ECO PowerXtra B25 CGI module bumps power output of the four-cylinder direct-injection engine from standard 204 hp (201 bhp) / 150 kW to 230 hp (226 bhp) / 169 kW at just 5,500 rpm.
Another ten additional horsepower can be realized with the supplementary installation of a larger intercooler and an electronically controlled Brabus sport wastegate valve that are part of the Brabus ECO PowerXtra B25S CGI performance kit. 240 hp (236 bhp) / 176 kW of power and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque in overboost mode accelerate the two-seater in 6.2 seconds from rest to 100 km/h on the way to a top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph).
On the road all CGI engines performance-tuned by Brabus deliver not just excellent driving performance but also optimized pulling power from low engine speeds and favorable fuel economy. Just as important for the Brabus engine specialists were exemplary low emissions: like the corresponding non-tuned engines all engines with Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI performance kit meet strict Euro V emission limits.
The installation of the Brabus stainless-steel sport exhaust system is advantageous not only for tuned engines. Its four tailpipes featuring the typical Brabus design not only give the roadster an even more exclusive appearance but also produce an even sportier exhaust note for all engine variants.
Another focus of the Brabus refinement of the new Mercedes SLK is the interior. Brabus offers an extensive program for the roadster: it includes attractive accessories such as high-gloss polished stainless-steel scuff plates with Brabus logo and sporty elements such as aluminum foot pedals and shifter.
Requests for even more individuality can be fulfilled by the Brabus upholstery shop in the form of exclusive interiors crafted from especially soft and breathable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara.

2011 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc is the world’s first automobile to be equipped with porcelain, and the development team invested a lot of effort to guarantee that each item is capable of performing in every driving situation in the most powerful car on the market. Before their application to the car, the porcelain elements were extensively examined in regard to automotive safety and quality to optimally protect the passengers in case of an accident.
As part of the exterior design, porcelain is used for the inlays of the centre wheel badges, the fuel filler cap and the oil filler cap as well as the signature “EB” badge at the rear. Their shiny white surface blends in with the brilliant bright finish of the paint suggesting that the car would be coated with a thin layer of porcelain, too.
Besides the signed porcelain inlays on the sides of the centre console, an intarsia made of finest porcelain is fixed to the rear panel between the seats. Similar to the exterior porcelain elements this item carries the relief of the famous elephant in an upright standing position that has been created by sculptor Rembrandt Bugatti. His brother Ettore had used the original draft to cast the radiator mascot for the Bugatti Royale. This elephant is a synonym for the brand still today. Embedded in the top of the centre console, there is a fine porcelain dish with edges finished in an exclusive diamond polishing – a technique that has been applied by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin for the very first time.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc presented in Berlin, is a one-of-a-kind creation. Nevertheless, the partnership is supposed to be continued, and Bugatti’s designers received a lot of inspiration from porcelain painting offering a variety of new opportunities for the design. The price of the
Bugatti L’Or Blanc is 1.65 m EUR.

Jaguar XKR

The Jaguar XK was the first car created entirely under the aegis of Design Director Ian Callum. Dramatic and purposeful, yet as sensuous as only a Jaguar can be, the XK now receives a number of revisions that reinforce its contemporary, assertive character.
The latest lighting technology has allowed the front headlamps to be made slimmer and at the same time incorporate LED signal functions and running lights. Combined with a larger grille and new bumper design, this gives the XK instant 'rear-view mirror' recognition. Unmistakably a Jaguar, each model in the range gains unique styling attributes that distinguish it from its siblings. Chrome mesh grilles on the XK are replaced with matt black detailing on the XKR while the flagship XKR-S receives a unique front bumper underlining its sense of purpose.

The power vent along the front wing has been altered from a vertical to horizontal design with a mesh insert. Emblazoned with the Jaguar name, it serves to emphasise the potential inherent in the XK's design. To the rear, the boot lid has been revised with a slimmer chrome finisher which allows the car to be graced by the famous Jaguar 'leaper', bringing it into line with the rest of the company's products.
Complementing the design changes are 17 paint colours, five of which are new and a range of alloy wheels that now total 11 different designs ranging in size from 18 to 20 inches. A further opportunity for owners to express their individuality is available through the 'Black Pack', now also available as an option on the naturally aspirated cars as well as the Jaguar XKR. This replaces exterior chrome with a matt black finish, complemented by 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels. On the Jaguar XKR, the package also includes body coloured aerodynamic enhancements and optional side graphics.

Mercedes M-Class

he third generation of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class sets new benchmarks in the SUV world with its leading-edge automotive technology. The new M-Class boasts optimum energy efficiency, leading standards of passive safety, outstanding ride comfort combined with superb driving dynamics, as well as a completely revamped interior design offering excellent ergonomics among its key strengths.

The low fuel consumption and exemplary emissions figures make impressive reading - on average, the entire model range burns 25 percent less fuel than the predecessor. Never before has Mercedes-Benz succeeded in cutting fuel consumption by such a huge margin with an SUV model change. An ultramodern engine line-up, a class-beating Cd value of 0.32, extensive BlueEFFICIENCY measures, as well as new development tools such as the "energy-transparent vehicle" all play their part in delivering the good energy efficiency figures. The ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC is particularly outstanding in this respect: it is 28 percent more economical than its predecessor, consumes just 6.0 l per 100 km on the NEDC driving cycle (158 g CO2/km) and can cover as much as 1500 kilometres on a single tank of fuel.

In line with the Mercedes-Benz brand philosophy, the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class represents the embodiment of the Mercedes-Benz holistic safety concept of Real Life Safety, which is derived from what happens in a real accident situation. In combination with the front and rear deformation zones, the high-strength passenger cell of the M-Class provides a highly effective foundation for the occupant protection systems. Both active safety and driver-fitness safety in the new M-Class are further improved by assistance systems that will already be familiar, primarily from the S-Class and E-Class.
